Does Your Dog Have Rhythm? - Dancing Dog Video

I Do dogs have rhythm? Can they dance? Can we dance together with them?

Yes, yes and yes. Dogs can learn to recognize and respond to the tempo and rhythm in the music. These elements serve as cues for certain moves the dogs learn to make.

But do a lot of people do this?

Well, actually dancing with your dog is becoming a big canine sport. There is actually a World Canine Freestyle Association that promotes and organizes "canine freestyle". Canine freestyle is defined as a choreographed musical program performed by handlers and their dogs. The object of musical freestyle is to display the dog and handler in a creative, innovative and original dance.

It is hard to describe it in words, so we have posted a great video of Chandi the Dancing Dog. Chandi was adopted when 4 months old from a shelter and started performing at 9 months old. She has won many awards over the years.

Take a moment to see Chandi dancing with her trainer. This is a really amazing video. To see the video go to: petplace.com/dog-videos.aspx?p=73

Do you want to teach your dogs a few simple dance moves?

Well, we have posted a great article titled "Have Some Fun, Teach Your Dog to Dance". It covers everything from finding your rhythm, learning the moves and putting it all together.

Dancing can be great fun, so enjoy dancing with your best friend.

Until next time...
